A New Home for a Historic Miami High School:
Established in 1963, Miami Carol City High School underwent a complete campus replacement / repurposing program in multiple phases spanning 5 years. Coastal completed Phases A and B which included a new 395,000 SF replacement high school on an adjacent campus. The new school, which serves a student body numbering 2,600+, features eight buildings, including an administration building, new classrooms and a 912-seat auditorium with stage, and 1,000-seat gymnasium, both of which have been designated as emergency shelters. In addition, the project included a new media center, science suite, vocational areas, dinning and kitchen facilities, and athletic fields for football, softball, baseball, track/field and tennis programs.
