Vertical construction on the 17-story Aqua condominium at West Shore Yacht Club was completed this week.

The project is backed by Miami-based developer Eddie Avila. It’s being built by Coastal Construction. Sales are managed by Smith & Associates Real Estate.

The building is expected to open by Spring 2026 and will feature 77 waterfront residences.

Amenities will include two pools, a 16th floor fitness center overlooking Tampa Bay, a golf simulator, a spa, steam rooms, a movie theater, a kid’s play area, co-working space, private guest suites, a private restaurant and a 149-slip marina.

Residences start at $1.5 million. Over 50% of units have already been sold.

Avila said he jumped at the opportunity to build one of the last available pieces of waterfront property in Tampa.

“This is such a great value,” he said.

Many of the buyers he has spoken with already own waterfront homes in Tampa but wanted to move somewhere that requires less upkeep. Some of them suffered flood damage last hurricane season and are seeking out a high-rise alternative.

“Direct access to a world-class marina and the unparalleled amenities of a prestigious yacht club community immerse Aqua residents in the ultimate waterfront lifestyle, where the best of Tampa Bay’s boating scene is just steps away,” David Moyer, executive vice president of developer services at Smith & Associates said in a statement.
